I want to let my valued patients know that my office remains open for your in-person appointments. We take steps to reduce the chance of you coming into contact with any potential sickness, including the Corona virus. Seats in the waiting room are sprayed each day with disinfectant spray, and we keep hand sanitizer in the waiting room. We also recently made available an all-purpose cleaner with anti-bacterial and anti-virus properties and paper towels in our waiting room so that you may wipe down your chair if you so chose.
Alternatively, I offer HIPAA-compliant teletherapy (with video and audio) sessions if for any reason you do not want too or cannot meet for an in-person appointment; there is no additional charge for teletherapy sessions, and you simply need an internet connection, an internet browser, and a video camera with a microphone. Less desirable, but still available, are telephone meetings. As noted above, I still meet with patients for in-person appointments as well. Simply call our office to let our staff know of your preference.
There appears to be significant fear-mongering in the media, which is contributing to some panic in our society. The initial evidence suggests that Corona virus symptoms are typically mild for healthy, young- to middle-aged adults. Elevated risk groups are the elderly and those with chronic illnesses (respiratory conditions, diabetes, etc.). I encourage all members of our community to obtain their information from reliable sources with no agendas, such as the CDC. Here is the CDC page for updated information on the Corona virus: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/summary.html
I look forward to continuing to serve all of my patients during this difficult time in our society given current Corona virus pandemic. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our office if you have any questions or concerns.
